Lauren Gresens, a California native and graduate of the University of California Irvine, holds a BFA in dance with performance and choreography concentrations.
Lauren began dancing at the age of 5 at KM Dance Arts, under the direction of Rita Matthews. After establishing a foundation and love for dance at KM, she later sought more focused training at Leighton Dance Project, with mentorship from director Kelli Leighton. Wanting to further advance her dance education, she began her studies at UC Irvine in 2016. There she had the privilege of working closely with respected artists including Charlotte Griffin, Loretta Livingston, Katarzyna Skarpetowska, and Distinguished Professor Lar Lubovitch. Gresens has performed Lubovitch’s restaged works Marimba and Dvorak Serenade, and most recently she performed as the soloist in his seminal work North Star.
She has spent formative summers abroad dancing in Italy and Israel to further develop her training and artistic perspective. Her additional summer training includes professional intensives hosted by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, chuthis., Vertigo Dance Company, and Entity Contemporary Dance. Gresens also developed a passion for choreography during her time at university and has debuted works at home at UCI and abroad in Italy. She is also a certified, classical Pilates instructor and is experienced in teaching private, semi-private, and small group sessions to a diverse range of clientele.
In August of 2021, Lauren moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Since relocating, she has performed with Repertory Dance Theatre as a guest artist and currently dances with SALT2, sister-company to SALT Contemporary Dance.
